Founded in 1997, the ICBC's goals include connecting businesses to each other and to the community at large and heightening community recognition for each member.
Members are updated on events within the business community and are given the opportunity to present to the group unique aspects of their businesses and the services they offer.
Club membership also provides automatic access to all Iowa City Chamber of Commerce activities.
Each member is expected to bring at least two guests per year. All members have a chance to present to the club two or more times a year. As time is available, members may bring in guest speakers to talk to the club about a unique business or a community art program.
Meetings are currenlty held at the Fairgrounds in downtown Iowa City, where breakfast is available. Club dues include the cost of breakfast on the first meeting of each month as well as coffee every meeting. Members receive a discount for buying their own breakfast during the remainder of the month.
